Hyde and Lucy

In the depths of darkness, where shadows like to dance,
Lies a tale of a murderer, a macabre romance.
With a heart as cold as the moon's pale glow,
He roamed the night alone, his secrets laying low.

His eyes, sharp as daggers, pierced the cold night air,
Seeking prey, unsuspecting and so unaware...
But twisted as it may be, Fate had the plan
To entwine a certain victim to the path of this man.

She, the embodiment of grace and beauty rare,
Unaware of darkness lurking, awry and unfair...
His footsteps trailed her, a predator's delight,
Yet, something stirred within him, such a forbidden light...

As moonbeams caressed her skin with tender grace,
He felt an ache, a longing he just couldn't erase.
In her eyes, the glimpse of a world of dreams so pure,
A flicker of compassion, a love that could endure...

The lines blurred between the hunter and the hunted,
As their paths converged and destinies confronted...
He saw her misfortune, veiled in such a fragile soul,
And in a wink, his somber heart commenced to unfold.

But the load of his sins weighed heavy on his chest,
A murderer's past, a soul forever damned to unrest.
He knew that such love could never truly be,
For he had stained his hands, lost his humanity.

In the depths of said clandestine affair,
He struggled with his demons, consumed by such despair.
Each stolen moment, a bittersweet agony,
As the bonds of Love clashed with his dark reality.

Surely, the truth would come to new light,
The entangled fate bound by the hands of night...
As the dawn approached, the reckoning drawing near,
A choice had to be made, his actions crystal clear.

He took her hand, gaze filled with regret,
Apologies whispered no one could forget.
In a final act of love, he chose to set her free,
Knowing such Love could never truly be.

And so, dark and grim, he vanished in the abyss,
Leaving abaft a tale of Love's tragic twist.
A murderer's heart, forever scarred and torn,
In Love or in Death, could never be reborn.
